Requests are made through this office. Additional lights are not placed in alleys. Established policy is one on the end of each block or intersection; except when blocks are extremely long or where there is a curve obstruction. Requests are assigned to Lt. Joe Renshaw at (256) 341-4600, who investigates the need and possibility of installation with a representative of the Decatur Utilities, Electric Department or Joe Wheeler Co-op. A form is received from the Electric Department or Joe Wheeler requesting approval of the street light and is executed by the Mayor.
