Pursuant to Ordinance 15-4246 adopted on January 19, 2016, by the City Council of the City of Decatur, Alabama, which generally provides: in addition to all other taxes now imposed by Law, effective on April 1, 2016, there is levied and collected in the City of Decatur Police Jurisdiction sales tax, use tax, and lease or rental of tangible personal property tax in an amount equal to one-half (1/2) of that respective amount provided for, levied and collected within the Decatur Corporate Limits for doing the same act, or engaging or continuing therein, or engaging or continuing in the operation of the same such business.
