Upon redemption of an impounded animal, the owner shall pay applicable charges of $35.00, with an additional charge of $10.00 per day starting the day after impoundment. There is an additional spay/neuter incentive fee of $25.00 for any dog or cat that is not spayed or neutered.
If the owner cannot show proof of a valid rabies vaccination, a $9.00 fee will be charged and a voucher issued for that vaccination at area veterinary clinics. If an animal is picked up after hours, there will be an additional $40.00 fee to defray overtime costs. If the animal is not claimed by its owner within a seven-day period, the animal will be euthanized or placed for adoption depending on its health and well-being.
