11 new officers joining Decatur Police

Eleven new officers will be welcomed onto the Decatur Police force at a ceremony Friday morning.
Joining the Decatur Police Department are officers David May, Jonathan Bates, Adam Ridgeway, Durand Prince, Darius Carr, Jack Brown, Angel Medina, Corey Cochran, Derrick Colley, Damion Bankhead and Sean Makaddam.
“This is an important time for each officer, their families and our department as they commit to ‘Serve and Protect’ the citizens of Decatur,” Police Chief Nate Allen said in a written release.
The new officers will be honored at 9 a.m. at the Alabama Center for the Arts at 133 Second Ave. N.E. in Decatur. Allen said the public is invited.
